Back home and back to work.
As soon as the plane landed on Sunday---I was off to a luncheon to learn about BIBLES in China! There are nearly 130 million Christians in China and the followers of Christ are growing by about 10% annually.
I spent the rest of the afternoon in the office working on MAPs (Ministry Action Plans) and then a late afternoon meeting at Grandview before coming back to BHCC for our evening service ad then our monthly Church Wide Events Team meeting.
A busy day.
A day that included watching our 8 am worship streaming video at www.bhcc.tv. Greg Gough is doing a great job with our internet broadcast.

You know, you and many of your readers are out there striving hard to make things happen and lots of folks seem to make it harder. Here is a quote I like from Theodore Roosevelt that epitomizes those who fight for better things:

Here is the latest Grandview News from Dick and Jan Garner
Hopefully there will be no ice storm tomorrow night, and we'll actually be able to begin classes! :-) It does look like the weather will be cold, but we hope that won't keep the students away.
As always on the first night of classes, things might be a little crazy as we try to get new students in the right level class. Teachers, please let us know if any of your students need to be in a different level - either higher or lower. Also, especially for the lower level teachers, it's important to remember that many of your students come into class knowing no English at all, so they can get "lost" very quickly if instructions are not given slowly and clearly. We will have Lipscomb Spanish students there to help with language needs - especially in the lower level classes.
We're very excited about the new deacons that have been appointed at Grandview. They are Cesar Jimenez and Jordan Jiron. Also, one of the new deacons installed at Brentwood Hills has been assigned to help at Grandview - Ben Byars. Ben and Laura have been helping in the children's program at Grandview for quite a while, and we are thrilled that they will be even more a part of the program there.
