Thank you to all who brought filled bags to the building this past week! We collected close to 500!
Volunteers will be needed on Sunday, November 18, to help deliver food sacks and Bibles.
We will also need volunteers to deliver sacks to schools during the week of November 19.

VERSE OF THE WEEK - Acts 1:1-2 - In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

SYMPATHY
Our sympathy goes out to Luther Tanley in the death of his father. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

We extend our sympathy to Jonathan Seamon in the death of his aunt, Mary Howell, who passed away on Friday. The funeral was held Sunday in North Carolina.

Our sympathy is extended to Rafael Ocanta, the Barquisimento elder, who has been here many times. His daughter Stefany Ocanta lost her life last night in a traffic accident. Please keep the family and the church there in your prayers.

RECENT NEWS:
Bob Chaffin, father of Pat Chaffin, is starting chemotherapy treatments.
Deena Irwin will be having surgery on Monday, December 3.
Jean McCreary continues chemo treatments for ovarian cancer. Her next treatment is scheduled for Nov. 15th.
Kay Miller remains in Baptist Hospital. No visitors at this time.
Jim Redmon remains in Vanderbilt Hospital, Room 6020. He loves visits! Please call Missy before going as he will be moving to a rehab facility at some point this week.
Sherlie Rowe remains in Southern Hills Hospital and is being treated for a subdural hematoma.

WHAT’S HAPPENING:

The annual Healing Hands Tie Sale continues through Friday, November 16th from 9am - 4pm each day. The ties sell for $10 each or buy 5 and get the 6th free. These ties are donated to Healing Hands and normally sell for $50-$150. All proceeds benefit the works of Healing Hands International.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

November 14 - PBS NewsHour, which airs in Nashville at 6:00 P.M., has interviewed Wayne Reed and several close friends and is scheduled to air their story about Diana’s tragic death. Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center is an inner city pre-school program for low income families in Nashville. The Center was founded by Wayne Reed, a member of the Otter Creek Church of Christ congregation who suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease. His wife, Diana Reed, who died October 3, 2012, was the third victim of the fungal meningitis tragedy.
