"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."--Romans 8:28

A week ago Thursday night, as millions of fans tuned in to watch Texas and Alabama fight for the National Championship title, none could have predicted what would happen to Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.

Just 4:06 into the game, McCoy took a hit that injured his shoulder and kept him from playing the rest of the game. It was a devastating loss for his team, and what most would have assumed a devastating blow to McCoy’s spirit. In an interview after the game, McCoy shared his disappointment:

"I've given college football the best I've had for the last four years. Every player's dream is to play on a stage like that and have an opportunity like that. I could have never imagined this would happen.”

Even through extreme disappointment, McCoy used this difficult opportunity to profess his faith:

“I'll never question God. I'm a man of faith. I've never questioned why.”

How many times have we been faced with a difficult and devastating situation and have questioned God’s will and love for us? How many times have we asked why? Colt McCoy was an example and inspiration to this entire nation as he gave God the glory amidst a very public and very defeating set of circumstances.

“God is in control of my life. And I know that if nothing else, I'm standing on the Rock.”
