Basketball Selection Day!

The bracket is out! And if you want to the be part of the “Journey Final Four”---then fill out your bracket and fax it or email to us by 4:00 pm on Tuesday. You can submit by Fax to: 615-832-2583 or email it to sarah@brentwoodhills.org Sarah will help me collect them and we will chart it over the next few weeks—to see who can put together the best bracket!

It is FREE…no cost…and we will give out some prizes to our top brackets! This should be a lot of fun! So get to work on those brackets and get them turned in before the Tuesday night “play-in” game!
ETSU…of the Atlantic Sun got a 16th seed…if Lipscomb had won…we might have been in the ‘play-in” game…that is where the OVC is this year…the only advantage we would have had…would have been our winning streak…but that is all a bunch of if, ands and buts----and it they were candy and nuts…we would be having a MERRY CHRISTMAS in MARCH!

Instead….we are in Florida…enjoying the rain and hoping for sunshine tomorrow!
Tommy…is looking out for me…and planning some vacation ‘hot spots’ for our week:
However, as Destin is one of my favorite places on earth, I have (in all seriousness) a few suggested places for you all to go.

1. Go to Fudpuckers and get the fried pickles. I checked with Dr. Tom and the grease from fried food is good to keep your fake knee oiled up.
2. Eat at the Back Porch. The food is good, the breeze is nice, and the ocean view is great. I called and told them to expect a guy probably wearing a fish or a lobster on his head.
3. Lots of good deep sea fishing. I hear there is a warning to watch out for the Seaman boys.
4. Lots of good miniature golf courses. I've seen your game you know. This might be your best chance to win 18 holes.
5. Barbara probably already mentioned the big ole Outlet Mall. Lots of good shops; I like Dockers. They have a Jockey store - those of us from camp know some new underdrawers would be a good move. There is also a good Black and Decker store - I know how you like gadgets! There is also a Bose store - your kids deserve good Christmas presents.
5. I think Harry T's has reopened. It's the best fish down there.

Have a good time and don't worry about anything. I hear the staff is having a party tomorrow entitled "Free at Last". It could just be a rumor. At any rate, some of us will keep an eye on things.

PS: someone said your neighbors (you know the ones) cleared the grass out of part of your yard and invited the neighborhood for a weenie and marshmellow roast. Doesn't a Somore sound good? Quick response by Fire Department limited any damage.

This afternoon…Barbara and I drove toward Destin…we have not made it all the way to the Spring Break Destination—yet! We stopped at a Publics Grocery Store to some shopping and then drove around the shopping center before heading back to our cottage. We watched some more basketball and I got a power nap before supper! (Oh yea---Adam Brown text Benjamin and then called to check and see what seed DOOK got in the tournament. Benjamin tried to play a joke on him…about DOOK playing an ineligible player…but Adam wouldn’t take the hook!)
After the rain stopped, Barbara and I walked on the beach, watched the sunset and then took a little short Bike ride. I am trying to following in the footsteps of my biking heroes---Tommy Clevenger and Mark McInteer. I am trying to get ready for a 8-9 mile ride from our cottage to Watercolor! That’s my goal for tomorrow!
The cottage that we are staying in…is part of a two story house. The owner is staying below…he is her for a few weeks…while his wife is up north taking care of her mother. He told his today he was from Portland, Maine---and the end of this week…he is going to make the 27 hour ride home! He says he makes it in two days! Now that is a road trip!
One of my goals this week…is to put some final touches on ideas…for this year’s camp theme. This weekend…we hope to have staff applications…and soon to follow camper applications…and we need to lock in the theme for 2009! I will also be working on “Re-shaping Camp Leatherwood”---so my early mornings and nights…will have me thinking…reading …and planning! I hope the ocean sounds…will give me some new ideas!
Have a great Journey and get your bracket in by Tuesday at 4:00 pm! Enjoy the Journey.
